Giving Back- Camp Mi Casa Su Casa Project
One of the unique things about Mi Casa Su Casa Retreat is it has a very special mission welcoming underprivileged children in Waushara and neighboring counties to come and enjoy special events free of charge to their families. The first ever Family Fun Day took place at Mi Casa Su Casa Retreat on July 26th, 2007 with a focus on 7th and 8th grade girls. All were allowed to bring along mentors, friends and family. Children from Waushara, Adams and Marquette counties and others were welcome to enjoy a day of outdoor activities such as fishing, yoga, tennis, badminton and more at no expense to their families. Two very special businesses Sweet Babou Desserts and Marigold Yoga and the generous and supportive organizations of CAMEY and FRESH START as well as many incredible individuals from these teams dedicated their time, volunteers, resources, financial support and compassion to create a special day. Many volunteers who are residents in the community, beloved family members and friends also turned out and dedicated their time, resources and donations to make this first event a success. Their dedication and support made ALL the difference and remains greatly appreciated.
In the future, through the donations of well-matched organizations and individuals who can provide the needed support, the long term plans of Mi Casa Su Casa Retreat's Projects are to give back to children with a specific focus of those in need or facing severe or terminal illness. Some of these projects will include rehabilitation of the Rustic Lodge located on the retreat property as well as expanding the number of future events at Mi Casa Su Casa Retreat offered free of charge for the enjoyment of children.
